Ecommerce Club ("we", "us") publishes a free weekly email newsletter for ecommerce founders and operators, along with this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what control you have over it. Questions? Email [email protected].
When you subscribe: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it.
When you contact us: whatever you send through the Work With Us form or by email, such as your name, email, store URL and message.
Automatically: basic usage data like whether an email was opened, which links were clicked, browser and device type, and approximate location (country/region). This is collected through our email and website platform.
We don't collect payment details, and we never ask for your store passwords.
To send you the newsletter and anything you asked for (like the Cheat Sheet).
To reply when you reach out about consulting or anything else.
To figure out which topics and links are actually useful, so we can make the newsletter better.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.
We only email people who signed up, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're out, no questions asked. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
Only the service providers that help us run the Club. Our newsletter and website are hosted by beehiiv, which stores subscriber data and sends our emails on our behalf. These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Some links on our Club Picks page and in our emails are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we'd actually use. When you click an affiliate link, that partner may set its own cookie to credit the referral. Their use of data is covered by their own privacy policy.
Our website uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work properly without them.
We keep your subscriber info for as long as you're subscribed, and contact-form messages for as long as needed to help you. Ask us to delete your data and we will, unless we're legally required to keep something.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR or California law), you may have additional rights. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Ecommerce Club is for adults running businesses. It isn't directed at anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let subscribers know by email.
